Screw Press Solid-Liquid Separator for Pig, Poultry & Cow Manure

Screw Press Solid-Liquid Separator

The screw press solid-liquid separator takes livestock manure — pig, poultry, cow dung, and sludge streams — and splits it into two manageable fractions: pressed solids with moisture content down to around 35%, and liquid that drains to a storage pool. Capacities run from 40 to 200 tons per day by model, on a footprint as small as 2.1 m².

It is mechanical dewatering — no chemicals, no heat, just a pump, a screen, and a screw. The material arrives by pump from your manure collection system (our manure removal belt system discharges straight into it), gets screened and pressed, and leaves as two streams.

Solids (~35% moisture, depending on inlet consistency): dry enough to stack, load with a shovel or loader, transport without leaking, and compost directly — or feed to a fertilizer granulation line. Compare that with raw flushed manure at 90%+ moisture, which is water-hauling.

Liquid fraction: drains by gravity to your pool or lagoon — for storage, irrigation application, or further treatment. In biogas workflows it returns to the digester feed.

The wetted body comes in two materials: stainless steel for corrosive feeds and long wash-down life, carbon steel for budget installations on less aggressive streams. Screen and screw wear parts are stainless/alloy regardless of body choice. We confirm the right material against your manure type and cleaning regime.

Machine Construction

ComponentConstruction
Screw shaftHigh-strength shaft; anti-corrosion alloy double-coil blade; manganese-treated spiral edge for wear resistance
ScreenStainless steel; replaceable — different mesh densities for different materials

Applicable materials

The separator takes pumpable livestock streams: pig manure from flush or scraper channels, cow dung diluted to pumping consistency, poultry manure in slurry form, and sludge. Drier poultry belt output may need dilution or re-liquefaction before the pump — we confirm the feed arrangement against your manure system at design stage.

FAQ

Can it handle chicken manure?
Yes — poultry manure in slurry form separates well. Dry belt output may need dilution to pumpable consistency first; we confirm the feed arrangement against your collection system.

How dry are the solids?
Down to around 35% moisture — the spring-loaded outlet sets the dryness, and the achievable figure depends on inlet consistency. Drier in, drier out.

What does the liquid fraction contain?
Screened liquid with dissolved and fine solids — it drains to your pool for storage, irrigation, or further treatment. The split point is set by the mesh density, which we select per material.

Single shaft or double shaft — which do I need?
Single-shaft covers standard dewatering duty across the model range. Double-shaft series serves higher dryness demand and heavier feeds. We confirm per application — tell us the manure type and target solids moisture.

Does the screen clog?
The chisel-slot filter resists clogging and cleans easily — and the screen is replaceable with different mesh densities for different materials.

How is it sized?
From your daily manure volume, its moisture, and the downstream use of each fraction. Send the numbers and we match the model.
