36/50/55-Inch Butterfly Cone Fan for Poultry Houses

36-Inch Butterfly Cone Fan

The 36-inch butterfly cone fan extracts air from poultry houses, livestock buildings, and agricultural ventilation systems. The cone outlet recovers airflow and directs the discharge away from the wall, and the fan runs in minimum, transitional, or tunnel ventilation layouts.

The listed model moves 28,000 m³/h at 550 W input, at a sound level of ≤70 dB — quiet enough for layer houses and farms near villages. Motors, shutters, cone materials, and control methods are configured to the building and the required ventilation capacity.

Key Features

  • 28,000 m³/h at 550 W — the 900 mm blade on belt drive keeps input power low for the airflow delivered.
  • ≤70 dB sound level — suits layer houses and sites close to residential areas.
  • Butterfly shutters open automatically with airflow and close when the fan stops — no separate shutter motor, no back-draft through the wall when the fan is off.
  • Cone outlet recovers airflow at low static pressure and discharges air directionally away from the building.
  • 275 g/m² hot-dip galvanized plate on the housing — the standard coating for humid houses; corrosion-resistant frame options for coastal sites.
  • Runs on 220 V or 380 V — the 550 W draw works on single-phase supply where three-phase power is not available.
  • Connects to environment controllers — staged or variable control within a complete ventilation system.
  • Wall-mounted installation — bolts to the wall in side-wall or end-wall positions; blades and shutters are accessible for routine cleaning.

Motor

  • Brand Options: Chinese premium motor, Siemens, WEG
  • Protection Class: IP55
  • Insulation Class: Class F
  • Winding: 100% copper wire
  • Customization: Voltage and frequency customizable

Advantages

  • Motor voltage and frequency can be customized to match your market
  • 100% copper wire for efficient, stable, and long-lasting performance

Fan Blades

  • Material: 430 stainless steel, 1.2 mm thickness (ferritic, corrosion-resistant)
  • Diameter: 1270 mm (for model MHL-1380)
  • Optional Materials: Galvanized sheet, aluminum alloy

Advantages

  • Large air flow
  • No deformation
  • No fracture
  • No dust accumulation
  • Attractive and durable

Note: Blade material is also available in galvanized sheet or aluminum alloy. 430 stainless steel is ferritic and corrosion-resistant, suitable for general poultry house environments. For highly corrosive or high-humidity conditions, aluminum alloy or galvanized sheet is recommended.

The Butterfly Cone Fan Series — 36 / 50 / 55 Inch

The same butterfly cone construction scales up for bigger houses and tunnel stages:

ModelBlade Dia.SpeedAirflowInput PowerSize (W×H×D)
MHL-1000900 mm (36″)500 rpm28,000 m³/h550 W1,000×1,000×1,160 mm
MHL-13801,250 mm (50″)458 rpm51,000 m³/h1,100 W1,380×1,380×1,300 mm
MHL-15301,400 mm (55″)400 rpm59,000 m³/h1,500 W1,530×1,530×1,400 mm

All three run on 220/380 V with ≤70 dB noise rating. For high-static-pressure tunnel banks in large broiler houses, see also our 50-inch galvanized box exhaust fan (direct drive).

What the Cone Does

The discharge cone slows the air leaving the fan and recovers part of the velocity as pressure. In practice this means the cone fan holds its airflow better at low static pressure than an open box fan of the same motor size — the working condition of side-wall and transitional ventilation. The cone also points the discharge away from the wall instead of letting it curl back along the building.

Belt Drive in This Fan — and When to Choose Direct Drive Instead

This series is belt-driven: the motor sits to the side, driving the blade through a belt and pulley. That costs a little efficiency and adds a belt to inspect, but it allows flexibility in motor mounting and speed matching.

We also supply direct-drive box fans, where the motor couples straight to the blade — no belts, lower maintenance, better suited to high-static-pressure tunnel banks. As a rule of thumb:

Manufacturing

  • About 90% of components are produced in-house — housing plates, frames, cones, and assembly. Vertical integration shortens the supply chain and keeps the unit price competitive at the same spec.
  • Complete CNC production line. All mounting and assembly holes are CNC-machined, so hole positions are consistent unit to unit — panels assemble without re-drilling, and replacement parts fit without modification.
  • 275 g/m² hot-dip galvanized layer on the plate steel. The coating protects the steel under normal farm conditions; for coastal or high-ammonia sites we confirm a heavier specification before you order.

Installation

  • Wall-mounted, bolt-on installation in side-wall or end-wall positions.
  • Installation drawings are issued against the confirmed model, including the wall opening size and bolt pattern.
  • Shutter faces outward; the cone discharges away from the building.
  • Connects to the environment controller for staged ventilation.

FAQ

How many cone fans does my house need?
That depends on house dimensions, bird numbers, target air speed, and the ventilation stage you are covering — minimum, transitional, or tunnel. Send your house layout and we complete the calculation.

Should I compare fans by the airflow figure alone?
No. Compare airflow at the static pressure your house will actually run — an open inlet system, filters, and cooling pads all add resistance, and free-air ratings overstate delivered performance in that condition. We size from your house design, not the catalog rating.

Does it need three-phase power?
No. The 36-inch model runs on 220 V or 380 V, and at 550 W it works on single-phase supply — relevant for farms without three-phase service.

What maintenance does a belt-drive fan need?
Routine belt and pulley inspection between flocks, plus cleaning of blades and shutters. The butterfly shutters have no motor or linkage to service.

Is it quiet enough near houses?
Sound level is rated ≤70 dB. If your site has strict noise limits, tell us the requirement and we confirm the operating point.
